It's so great to be able to hear from you and share some of your experiences through your web-blog. Sounds like you have a really nice host family; so good you can stay together! By now I'm sure you've heard how the Tar-Heels ran circles around Michigan State, winning 89-72 in a game that, to quote an AP writer, "wasn't even that close". Congratulation, Emma and UNC!
If you think about it, sometime would you send me the name of that PCT who is related to my Aunt Viola Kientzy (she is married to my mom's brother)? Aunt Viola's maiden name is Burkemper, and the Burkemper family farmed down around Old Monroe (near Moscow Mills, which is the next town down Hwy 61 from Troy). Tell me how your new friend's lineage goes back to Aunt Viola.

Love,

Emma and Alex, good to hear from you. I'm pleased you are together and enjoying new friends a lots of good food (Alex, have you heard of the PCT 15?). If you haven't already, check Mom's Facebook bear pictures. The second half of the NCAA championship game has begun. We're in command at this point. Go Heels!
Love,
Daddy G
