From Winston-Salem & points east:

Take I-40 West to NC Hwy 421 North toward Boone (Exit 188). Drive about 71 miles through Wilkesboro and up the mountain, then follow directions below.

From Charlotte:

Take I-77 North to NC Hwy 421 North toward Boone (Exit 73B we believe). Drive about 43 miles through Wilkesboro and up the mountain, then follow directions below.

Everyone:

Turn right on NC Hwy 221 North at the stoplight shortly after you pass under the Blue Ridge Parkway at the top of the mountain. Drive 12.5 miles and turn left at the next stoplight onto NC Hwy 163. (For those going to the hotel: turn left at the next stoplight onto Beaver Creek School Rd, and the Nation's Inn will be on your left. You'll see it from the highway.) Go 7 miles straight through West Jefferson, up and over "Radio Hill" to Warrensville. Turn right onto NC Hwy 194 N. (There will be a gas station on your left.) Stay on this road 12.5 miles, until reaching "the Creek". You will drive straight through Lansing and one "red light", at which point you are on Big Horse Creek Road and have less than 9 miles to go! After Lansing, just be sure to follow the creek. As you pass Tuckerdale Baptist Church, the road curves sharply to the right and there are only 6 miles to go. (Careful - soon after that are a couple really sharp curves and a one-lane bridge.) We are on the right just past the new bridge as the creek leaves the road; you will probably notice the big tent in the yard!

From the Nation's Inn to "the Creek", it is 6.5 Baptist churches, as distance is commonly measured in these parts. If you want to track your progress along the way, these are First Baptist in West Jefferson, Oak Grove, Phoenix, Tuckerdale, Union Grove, and the little white one 2 miles before our place. If you get to Apple Grove, you've gone too far!
